Record snow falls for January in Denver, Colorado set the scene at the National Western Stock Show for Ardrossan Lowline Stud, situated in Victoria’s South West town of Princetown, to attain an American Lowline record price of $3100 per embryo for a package of 4.
These embryos, out of high GeneStar rated Lowline cattle, were collected at the Stud’s on farm quarantine facility, which was built as a result of the interest shown in the Stud’s diverse Lowline genetics when the owners, Jeanette & Peter Stebbins, visited the United States in May last year. Sales of livestock, semen and embryos were also obtained by the Stud by Private Treaty at Denver.
The National Western Stock Show is the largest livestock show in North America where an average of 700,000 people pass thru the gates. The Lowline Auction consisting of 100 Lots, amassed total sales of just under $US500,000.
